Fandom #9: Star Wars

I don't have too many fics for Star Wars, but as one of the rare fandoms where I do occasionally find really excellent gen fics, it deserves its own post.
EDIT: 2/29/16. The 7th Star Wars movie was surprisingly good (in the model of the original trilogy, but with more humanization of the Stormtroopers) and spurred a desire for fics.
EDIT: Nov. 2023. Previous!me had no idea what a quagmire the sequel trilogy was going to get mired in. I have more fix-it fics, as well as some inspired by the show The Mandalorian. 

FIC: The Original Trilogy, plus Rogue One
~The Sith Who Brought Life Day, by Ophelia Interrupted. Gen. One of the imperial nobodies who make the Empire work loses a bet and has to come up with a good present for Darth Vader.
~Food Scandal, by Malicean. Gen. Another imperial!fic. A scientist notices that someone's been cheating the nutrient requirements for the rations, and when she doesn't get any action from below, she takes it all the way to the top.
~The Background Noise of Defiance, by loosingletters. If the Empire had retained more communications technology (there's a plausible argument for the Emperor deliberately allowing the Empire to stagnate technologically outside of weaponry, so this wouldn't be out of the question as an alternative), Darth Vader finds his son through his videos on how to repair spaceships.
~Civil Wars, Whistleblower Tactics, Schematic Drafting, and the Finer Points of Sith Adoption: The Essential How-To Guide for the Engineering Jedi series by Jackdaw_Kraai. Sort of a crack premise - if Luke had taken after his father in engineering skills, he could have been revealed as a genius engineer during his teens to the Empire - which would have been interested in recruiting him - and Vader figures out pretty quickly that Luke is his son. Luke as a semi-Prince of the Empire (but since people don't know the family relationship, it looks like he's a chosen-via-merit heir) ensues. WIP.
~i guess i'll know when I get there, by Eisoj5. An AU for Rogue One in that they all survive the end. A slow burn romance between Bodhi and Luke ensues.

FIC: The Prequel Trilogy
~Knight Moves, a surprisely plausible Obi-Wan/Maul romance.
~Go to Sith Academy, you won't regret it. It's a prequel-heavy parody/satire archive focused on Darth Maul and the unspeakable - really - tasks he must perform as an apprentice Sith. Such as, oh, go to the laundromat, or buy furniture at IKEA. It made it into cross-fandom lore and the media noticed it at the height of its fame.
~The Massive Machinery of Hope series, by KillBothTwins. Obi-Wan's time travel (mentally only) fix it, possibly the most thorough example thereof. Very satisfying anti-slavery plots.
~The Legend of Liob, by KillBothTwins. Crackfic, positing a complete canon overhaul if a combat photographer had been attached to the clone unit that Obi-Wan is general of, and his clone troopers decide to play an ongoing practical joke on her.
~Luminous, by HopeofDawn. Sort of a time travel fix-it, in that Obi-Wan's Force Ghost is haunting Kamino and taking care of the clone troopers. WIP.
~Dominoes, by meridianpony. A squad of clones dies, one by one, and when the last passes, they all wake up in the past. Now they're trying desperately to avoid the denouement of the Clone Wars. WIP.
~Supreme Chancellor Obi-Wan Kenobi, by stonefreeak. A random senator from a normally-ignored planet calls a vote of no-confidence and asks for a Jedi to become the new chancellor. Plot threads slowly unravel. WIP.
~When the dead tree flowers, by blackkat. Turns out some of the clones are not entirely clones. Granta Omega is here for his kids.

FIC: The Mandalorian (at least, inspired by - if the cast has Mandalorians other than the Fetts and the clone troopers, this is the right category)
~it's a hell of a universe series, by storm_petrel. A meet-cute between Luke Skywalker and Din Djarin would of course involve life-endangering Force feats and being "incredibly competent morons" as the author puts it. WIP.
~Sunburst series, by ShyOwl. Another Luke/Din story, but so far much sadder. A depressed Luke goes back in time (mentally only) and endures an abusive upbringing under Vader in an attempt to turn him Light again faster. He at least has a connection with Din to comfort him. WIP.
~The Lesson, by cjwritesfanficnow. For this one, the humbled time traveler is Jango Fett. Eventual Jango/Obi-Wan per the summary. WIP.
~Beskar and Bones, by BairnSidhe & ValkyriePhoenix. Divergence: teen Obi-Wan and Satine stumble over proof of multiple Mandalorian Jedi: a ruined temple in the desert. Ghosts ensue, and are determined to teach these children (being Force Ghosts, that tracks). WIP.
~Why We Did Nothing, by BairnSidhe. A Mandalorian runs into a Jedi Historian and gets schooled on why exactly Jedi don't get along with Mandalorians. An AU happens.

FIC: The Sequel Trilogy
~Tomorrow (there'll be more of us) by dimircharmer. The Resistance is bewildered by an influx of defecting Stormtroopers from the First Order. A little implied OT3 (Rey/Finn/Poe).
~The Story of Finn, by LullabyKnell. Another Stormtrooper!Fic, this one is chaptered and the POV of a 'trooper who slowly realizes through nightly story-hour that it is possible to get away, since Finn did it, and whose entire troop decides to break for it.
~To the sky without wings, by Leupagus. Focused on Poe's life (and his lifelong fixation on Luke Skywalker). It may be the definitive Luke/Poe, a rare pairing indeed.
~Have you heard, by peradi. Inspired by Dimircharmer's fic, this is another Stormtroopers defection story, on an epic scale.

OTHER (Not Fic):
~The Complex and Terrifying Truth About Star Wars Fandom. It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that Star Wars fans, *real* fans, HATE Star Wars.
~The Modern Adventures of Han and Ben Kylo, a series of pic-stories that make the Solo-Skywalker family a 21st century dysfunctional one.
