Fandom #51: Project Hail Mary
Jul. 29th, 2024 11:21 amI don't want my fandoms posts to block my Challenges in the scroll, so this has been backdated two years - but that's fine, I definitely read the book at least two years ago - it's just that the movie pulled me into the fandom. My preferences here are for genfic; Ryland Grace provides great aroace representation, and his friendship with Rocky is more important than any other relationships anyway (although expect Adrian/Rocky here as well).
Complete Works:
~Aging Gracefully, by jadedace. Grace is juggling a couple of issues: the fact that he doesn't seem to be aging on Erid, and the rapidly approaching diplomatic contact ship from Earth.
~The Astrobiology Immersion Program, by startingatmidnight. A weird space accident makes Rocky and Grace switch bodies on the way back to Erid.
~Ave Maria series, by nopaintjustpain. Stories about Grace adjusting to life on Erid. Note that each story is complete when posted, but the series has been left open-ended.
~Teacher Grace's Extraordinary Curriculum series, by Acewithapaintbrush. Slice of life stories about Grace teaching on Erid. Note that each story is complete when posted, but the series has been left open-ended.
WIPs:
~Discordant, by EvieNyx. Time-travelling Grace looks like a nutcase suddenly in the middle of Project Hail Mary's prep.
~I'm Ryland Grace - AMA, by sly_as_an_alpaca. The Eridians figure out how to overcome the massive distance between Erid and Earth - not physically, but on the internet.
~Past Lives in the Stars, by tinallie. Rocky time-travelled, but Grace didn't. It's creepy to have the first message from aliens demand a response from a random schoolteacher.
~Red Thread Tying Us Together, by alatarmaia4. They both time-travel using Eridian tech, and try to save both crews. Grace overshoots and has to relive his entire life.
~The Long Journey Home, by Heartaway. Crossover with The Martian. When eventually Rocky and Grace decide to travel to Earth, it comes as a surprise to Earth.
